Ingredients

White channa 1 cup (soaked overnight)
Yam ½ (medium sized cubes)
Green plantains 2 (medium sized cubes)
Potato 2 (medium sized cubes)
Carrot 2 (medium sized cubes)
Green chillies 3
Turmeric powder ½ tsp
Kashmiri chilly powder ½ tsp
Mustard seeds ½ tsp
Cumin seeds ¼ tsp
Scraped coconut 1 cup (separate ½ cup for frying)
Dry red chillies 3
Shallots 4
Garlic 3 cloves
Curry leaves
Salt to taste


           

Pressure cook the vegetables and chana with turmeric powder, salt and green chillies.

Grind the scraped coconut with chilly powder, shallots, cumin seeds and garlic.

In a heavy bottomed pan mix the cooked vegetables with the ground coconut and let it simmer on medium flame.

In another pan pour 2 tbsp of oil and splutter mustard seeds. Add the ½ cup scraped coconut with curry leaves and dry red chillies. Fry the coconut on medium flame till brown.

Mix the fried coconut with the vegetables and remove from flame.
